Continuing Professional Development Courses and Opportunities

The is a series of three, online courses designed to walk teachers and administrators through the process of understanding the National Board Certification process, gather materials, write drafts of required materials, and get instructor and peer feedback on draft materials. The first course is free and helps teachers understand the complicated resources, process, timelines, components, standards, and costs of National Board Certification. The next two courses have a fee, and teachers are eligible for 4 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits each upon successful completion. The goal is that teachers are able to gather all materials and complete nearly all required submission tasks, with feedback for improvement, by the end of the three-course sequence. Teachers do not need to submit for National Board Certification as part of the course requirements, but they may feel nearly ready to do so when they are done!

The Maryland Holocaust Educators Network provides development of Maryland teachers on understanding and teaching about the Holocaust. There are 3 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits offered for those who complete it.
