SU's Martino Named Fulbright International Education Administrator
SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Andrew Martino, dean of 小蓝视频’s Glenda Chatham and Robert G. Clarke Honors College, has been selected for the prestigious Fulbright International Education Administrators Program.
Bolstering connections in France, Martino will travel to Paris this fall with just 11 other representatives of U.S. higher education.
“I am thrilled to have been chosen as a 2021 International Education Administrators Fulbright in France,” said Martino. “I am hoping that this award will serve as a resonant first step in internationalizing the Clarke Honors College with a look to greater diversity in the future by expanding our perspectives.”
During the two-week program, Martino and the other officials will seek to create connections with France’s societal, cultural and educational leaders. They will learn about the educational system in France and attend briefings, campus visits, appointments with government officials, networking and cultural activities, and meetings with French international education professionals.
“I hope to form an exchange of students and scholars between the Clarke Honors College and various institutions in France, as well as partner with SU’s Bosserman Center for Conflict Resolution to begin a series of discussions about the migration crisis in Europe, paying particular attention to France,” he said.
Since 1946, the Fulbright Program, the flagship U.S. global educational exchange administered by the Council for International Exchange of Scholars, has sought to increase mutual understanding between the people of the U.S. and other countries.
