Black History Month Kick-Off Event at SU February 1

SALISBURY, MD---小蓝视频 celebrates Black History Month throughout February, beginning with a kick-off event 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, in Holloway Hall Auditorium.

This year’s theme, “Black Resistance,” explores how African Americans have fought historic and ongoing oppression since America’s earliest days.

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion, along with the Multicultural Alliance, Guerrieri Student Union, National Pan-Hellenic Council and other campus organizations host the event, which includes Black talent at SU and introduces attendees to other Black History Month programming at the University.

Additional events during the month include guest speakers, the Harriett Tubman Museum Experience, Gospel Fest and SU’s annual African American Poetry Read-In. All are part of the University’s “Africa and the World” cultural events series, highlighting the cultures associated with Africa, as well as African peoples in diaspora.
