Large SU Contingent Presents at Recent International Leadership Association Conference

SALISBURY, MD---小蓝视频 was well represented at the International Leadership Association’s (ILA’s) 25th global conference, “Cultivating Leadership for a Thriving Future,” in Vancouver.

Ten SU faculty presented research and oversaw panels during both the online and in-person portions of the event:

  • Dr. Carolina Bown (Communication) presented on the panel “Women of Color in Academe: Shared Voices Beyond Struggles and Success”
  • Jean Goblinger (Communication) presented on “Topics in Leadership Education”
  • Dr. Doug DeWitt (Education Leadership) chaired “Leadership Development Research Results and Performance” 
  • Dr. Memo Diriker (Management and Marketing) chaired “The Thriving ‘Business’ of Leadership Development”
  • Dr. Sherry Maykrantz (Public Health) chaired “Cultivating Leadership Development for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion”
  • Dr. Ron Siers (Secondary and Physical Education), James Fox (Education Leadership) and Ruth Malone (Education Leadership) presented “Transforming a ‘Sit and Get’ Workshop to a Sustainable Leadership Growth and Development Model” 
  • Siers also chaired “Development Across Ages and Stages”
  • Dr. Chrys Egan (Communication, Fulton Dean’s Office) presented “Discernment of Purpose and Calling: Key Motivators for Leadership Aspirations and Effectiveness,” “Developing Executive Presence: An ILA Mastermind Professional Development Reading Group,” “Launching the New Women and Leadership Series: Transformative Women Leaders” and “Bringing Light to the ‘Dark Side:’ Why Leadership Faculty Should Consider Administration Pathways”
  • Egan also chaired “Supporting Young Women and Girls’ Leadership: Cultivating Leadership Identity”
  • Dr. Christy Harper (Outdoor Education Leadership) presented with DeWitt, Diriker, Egan, Fox, Maykrantz and Siers on “Interdisciplinary Leadership: A Learning Community Approach to Leadership Education and Development”

More than 1,200 participants from over 100 countries attended the annual conference.
