SU Hosts 'Imageries of Resistance' Lecture April 16

SALISBURY, MD---Dr. Julia Medina, professor of Spanish at the University of San Diego, shares her work on the intersection of visual culture and environmental humanities in Central America during the lecture “Re-Planting Imageries of Resistance in Visual Culture from Human to Vegetal Agency in Nicaragua” 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, in Room 156 of 小蓝视频’s Conway Hall. 

Based on the April 2018 political crisis in Nicaragua, Medina’s presentation explores how plants and vegetal imagery have been used as expressions of resistance and rebellion to authoritarianism and ecocidal practices. Sponsored by SU’s Modern Languages and Intercultural Studies Department, admission is free and the public is invited. For more information call 410-543-6341.
