SU, Cecil College Sign Business Education Partnership Agreement

Cecil CollegeSALISBURY, MD---The recent opening of 小蓝视频’s new Perdue Hall is impacting students who may have never set foot in Wicomico County, much less the campus.

SU recently signed an agreement that will allow government contracting students at Cecil College in North East, MD, to simultaneously pursue bachelor’s degrees in business management through SU’s Franklin P. Perdue School of Business.

“SU professors will deliver content using the new state-of-the-art facilities at Perdue Hall, enabling students who previously might have viewed an SU degree as out of their reach to get a top-notch education,” said Dr. Melanie Perreault, associate provost, who signed the agreement on SU’s behalf.

Distance learning classrooms in Perdue Hall—part of some $3.1 million in new technology installed in the building—will allow Perdue School faculty to broadcast lectures and class assignments some 120 miles north to Cecil. A live chat feature will allow those students to participate in class discussions.

Since 2005, SU has partnered with Cecil to offer a bachelor’s program in social work via distance learning. According to Perreault, the business program not only will strengthen that partnership, but provide opportunities for the area’s changing population.

“We are particularly excited to offer this degree at Cecil College as part of our efforts to support the BRAC initiative at Aberdeen Proving Ground,” she said.
