SU鈥檚 Brown and Church Carillon to Toll for 'Bells of Peace' in Honor of WWI Anniversary

GAC BuildingSALISBURY, MD---小蓝视频 joins other institutions in Maryland and throughout the U.S. in ringing “Bells of Peace” this Veterans Day, Sunday, November 11, to honor those who served in World War I.

Through the U.S. World War I Centennial Commission program, bell towers, chimes and carillons throughout the nation will ring their bells 21 times (representing a 21-gun salute) at 11 a.m. local time to commemorate the November 11, 1918, signing of the Armistice, which ended the First World War.

SU’s Brown and Church Carillon at the Patricia R. Guerrieri Academic Commons will toll during that time.

Inside the building, SU commemorates the milestone with the exhibit “Over Here and Over There: The World at War, 1914-1918” in the Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture’s G. Ray Thompson Gallery through Wednesday, December 19. (Note: Because the gallery is closed on Sundays, the exhibit will not be open during the “Bells of Peace” tolling.)
